What Is Somatic Experiencing®?

Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a gentle, holistic approach to healing trauma and chronic stress stored in the body. Developed by Dr. Peter A. Levine, this evidence-informed modality helps restore balance to the nervous system by working directly with your body’s natural rhythms—without needing to retell or relive traumatic events.

Rather than focusing solely on thoughts or emotions, SE™ uses body awareness to help you process and release the survival energy trapped in the fight, flight, freeze, or fawn responses. This empowers your system to return to a state of safety, connection, and resilience.

How It Works

Each session is guided by your body’s innate wisdom and personal pace. You’ll work one-on-one with a trained practitioner to gently explore sensations, patterns, and stored stress in a way that feels manageable, supported, and empowering.

You may experience:

  • Education on how your body’s responses are natural—and how they can be healed
