Somatic Experiencing® (SE™)
Nervous System–Based Somatic Support
Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) is a gentle, body-based approach that supports the nervous system in processing stress and trauma held in the body. Developed by Dr. Peter A. Levine, this evidence-informed modality works through body awareness and sensation, rather than retelling or reliving past events.
SE™ is not talk therapy and not energy healing. It is a somatic, nervous system–focused practice that helps restore a sense of safety, regulation, and resilience.

Marma Therapy
Subtle Touch for Energetic Balance & Nervous System Regulation
Marma Therapy is a traditional Ayurvedic practice that works with marma points — vital energetic junctions where the body’s physical, energetic, and nervous systems intersect. Gentle, intentional touch at these points supports relaxation, circulation, and a sense of internal balance.
This work is subtle and non-invasive, emphasizing presence, precision, and responsiveness rather than pressure or manipulation. Marma therapy is often deeply calming, helping the nervous system shift out of stress and into rest.
Marma Therapy may support:
Nervous system regulation and stress relief
Emotional settling and mental clarity
Improved circulation and energetic flow
Integration after other body-based or therapeutic work
A deeper sense of grounding and internal coherence
Sessions are quiet, intentional, and tailored to the individual, with touch adapted to comfort level and sensitivity.
Marma Therapy is rooted in Ayurveda and complements other Energy Work modalities by offering gentle, point-based support that bridges the physical and subtle body.
What to Expect
Fully clothed sessions, seated or lying down
Guided awareness of sensations, breath, and internal cues
Non-invasive, non-touch or minimal-touch support
A pace led by your nervous system, not an agenda
SE™ may support:
Chronic stress or burnout
Anxiety or nervous system overwhelm
Trauma stored in the body
Emotional numbness or dysregulation
Difficulty staying present or grounded
Somatic Experiencing® can be a powerful complement to therapy, bodywork, yoga, and other integrative care.

Nic Hathaway
Massage Therapist & Reiki Healer
Nic is a massage therapist, Reiki healer, father, philosopher, and spouse. He has been licensed in massage since 2020, and has practiced Reiki since 2022. A massage session with Nic is a pause from the stressors of the daily routine. It is a chance for the nervous system to relax, and an opportunity for stiff and tired muscles to let their guard down. His massage style achieves this through a slow, deliberate, intuitive, and perfectly weighted touch that works with the body’s miraculous ability to repair itself when it feels safe to do so. As a Reiki healer, Nic listens to where the energy needs to go and obeys. A session might feel like a calming reset, a burst of intense energy, a transformative emotional release, or something completely different and unique to the individual.
Teressa Thurwanger
M.S., LCMFT, SEP| Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and A.R.T. (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) for individuals 21+
Teressa is a collaborative therapist who practices a holistic approach focusing on acute and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. “Watching people show up, work hard, and reap the amazing benefits from their practices of courage and vulnerability inside and outside of my office gives me life.”
Teressa graduated with two undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice and Elementary Education from Evangel University in 1997, pursuing law enforcement as her first career for several years. Next up was being a full-time stay-at-home mama, followed by working as a private investigator for the Missouri State Board of Nursing and the Missouri Real Estate Commission.
After beginning her own self-work with a therapist nearly 20 years ago, and a few years later navigating her divorce with intention and kindness, Teressa decided she wanted to go back to school. She wanted to learn how to use all of her lived experiences to help others, as she had been helped with clinical skills and unconditional positive regard in a therapy room.
She attended the Friends University Marriage and Family Therapy Program and received a Master of Science with honors in 2017. She is fully clinically licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. She has also completed a significant number of post-graduate trainings and certifications, including being trained as a death doula, a ketamine assisted psychotherapist, and most recently as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner through the three-year program by Somatic Experiencing International.
Teressa is both incredibly warm and unapologetically bold, holding every gritty thing you might bring to a session with compassion and an utter lack of judgment. She looks forward to meeting you!
Teressa is private pay but does provide monthly superbills upon request. She also accepts HSA/FSA cards.
